Weird Fish Allegro is a series of still images made through collage. The black-and-white portraits were shot entirely by my friend Xianzhen Lu, with myself as the model. After receiving her footage, I used brightly colored archival imagery of various fish to wrap around the black-and-white, frozen version of myself.

In this project, I was separated from control over the camera. Through post-production, however, I regained control over a still-moment version of myself, giving it a new aesthetic structure and meaning.
